Skyline is a small, family-run care company in Torquay. One carefully matched carer lives in and helps with everything from medication to a walk along the seafront — the same familiar face every day, with a manager who visits every week.
Six quick questions so the right person calls you back. Nothing to pay, no obligation.
A live-in carer moves in and takes on the day-to-day: personal care, medication, meals, the house, company — and getting out. Every plan is written around the person, not a timetable.

Round-the-clock support from one carer who lives in, for people who need help through the day and reassurance at night. Often the alternative to a care home — and for a couple, usually the kinder one.

If someone is in Torbay Hospital and the ward is talking about discharge, we can arrange live-in support around that date so they come home rather than into a residential placement.

Dementia and Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke, continence and complex health needs, respite for family carers, and end-of-life care at home. Carers are matched to the person’s needs and personality.
You will not be passed between departments. The person who assesses your family is the person who sets up the care.
Answer the six questions above or call us. It takes about two minutes and nothing is committed.
A member of the Skyline team calls within one working day to understand the situation and answer your questions honestly.
We visit the home, meet the person who needs care and the family, and write a care plan you can read before deciding anything.
We match a live-in carer on skills, personality and interests, introduce them properly, and a manager checks in every week.

Mum has gone from surviving to thriving. It’s wonderful Mum has been able to return to her flat and enjoy going out again every day on Paignton seafront.
A heartfelt thank you for the outstanding support provided to my father in law during his discharge from hospital and return home. Since returning home with his live-in carer, he has been thriving.
Dad has complicated care needs and Skyline understand him perfectly. The continuity of care is imperative for his mental health too. We have seen carer companies come and go.
My aunt has a live in carer who is very professional and works to a high standard. They also do weekly visits from a manager. Most importantly she is very happy and able to stay in her own home that looks out onto the sea.
I live away from mum, and I don’t have to worry about her because I know she’s being so well looked after. And the director keeps in touch with me, so I feel connected with the company.
The staff are always aware of her needs and have got used to knowing exactly what makes her laugh and what keeps her happy. Always caring and supportive and most importantly respectful.

Skyline keeps its client list deliberately short so that the directors know every person they care for, and every carer they place. If something changes at 9pm on a Sunday, you call a person, not a switchboard.

Because a live-in carer stays in the home, distance from the office matters less than it does for visiting care. The towns below are where most of our families are.
Postcodes: TQ1, TQ2, TQ3, TQ4, TQ5, TQ9, TQ12 and TQ14. Somewhere else in Devon? Ask — we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

It depends on the person’s needs and on matching the right carer. Tell us the date you are working to — a hospital discharge, a family carer’s holiday — and we will tell you honestly on the first call whether we can meet it.
A manager visits the home, meets the person who needs care and whoever else the family wants there, and talks through daily routines, health, medication, likes and dislikes. You then receive a written care plan and price. There is no charge and no obligation.
Skyline’s live-in care starts from £1,275 a week for one person, and the price for more complex needs is agreed in writing after the free assessment. Many families are surprised that it is comparable with, or less than, a residential care home — and for a couple it is usually much less than two places.
Yes. A live-in carer needs their own bedroom and a break each day. We will talk through the practicalities at the assessment.
Matching is the part we take most seriously — personality and interests, not just skills. If it isn’t right, tell us and we change it. A manager visits weekly precisely so that problems are caught early.
Yes. Choose “not sure yet” on the form. Many families first call us from a hospital corridor with no idea what the options are. We will explain them plainly, including the ones that are not us.
